Just last week we received an email inviting us to attend a press conference announcing an exhibition game of Olympic Woman's Hockey to be held here in the Comox Valley on February 7. The press conference was the next morning and Haideh was already booked, but Walter was able to go. Turned out that the teams are Sweden and China, both highly rated, and the game will be at the Comox Valley Sports Centre. Tickets went on sale that day and were sold out in just hours. Walter bought enough for us to be able to offer a Woman's Hockey/Belle Vue B&B get away package. Numerous Olympics teams are training at our local Mt. Washington Ski Resort. This is an excellent time to plan your "Ski and Sea" vacation. So maybe hockey isn't your thing, but perhaps skiing, or snowshoeing, or perhaps you'll share a skilift ride with one of the Olympians training on Mt. Washington. Despite the unusually warm weather lately, there is still lots of snow up there. Most runs are open and not restricted for Olympians, unlike other training destinations. So join us and sleep by the sea, then have a great breakfast and head for the slopes!
